Original acrylic painting. Acrylic on canvas. 7" X 5". Framed

Looking east from my garden up the OLD Dysynni Valley - the course of the river changed and formed the present Dysynni Valley due to a huge rockfall blocking it's path millions of years ago. The nearby famous Tal y Llyn steam railway runs from Tywyn up the old valley to Abergynolwyn, not making it as far up as Tal y Llyn (the valley floor lake beneath Cadair Idris south flank)

Here at my house on the edge of the salt marsh I normally wake to a dawn chorus of choughs, gulls and sheep belching like they've had ten pints of Old Rosie down the Tredegar Arms the night before.

Painted on canvas board 7" X 5". This oil painting is from my #FuturePostcards series - reminding us that holidays will come again. I am now most of the way through this marathon postcard series and the end is in sight.

I have to confess I have made a mistake in this painting, the sky gradation is upside down, it should be white at the top and orange at the bottom - just like today's dawn - however I painted it after a few large bourbons* last night

*not the biscuit nor larger members of the royal dynasty

I was hoping to be accompanied by two fellow Welsh artists this week @marcuswalters
and @obroberts but they couldnt make it, so I am here on my own painting my guts out.

A recent visitor remarked that Tywyn is surrounded by 7 hills... so does that make it the 'Rome of Wales' or 'The Fourth Rome'? Or 'The Sheffield of Wales'?
